Buildings in Color

Right now I’m primarily using Pitt India Ink pens for my color work. India Ink on paper doesn’t lend itself very well to editing. So I need to be more precise in laying out where the colors will be in the composition. This is in contrast to the black and white drawings, where I begin with very thin, light lines to build the drawing. However, the piece “In Dreams…” became a recent outlier. The gesso surface allows for the India ink to be reworked! It’s always a gift to learn more about the materials we use; it clears the runway for us to stretch and grow.
